His Rachel Corrie Moment (In Memory of Asma al-Mughayr)

the cross-hairs fix
across the rooftops

wind from the south-
....five knots

and leading
across the space where birds
have flown

but now
in the cold Ashka-Nazi eye

the young girls form
moves in laughing dance

arms gathering the laundry
she dreams
and surely she must hope
of a world and a life beyond today

as finger tightens
upon trigger...

when it came
the explosion was

of such a force that...

he came too

like Romeo's ghost upon
the imagination's palanquin of night

the bearers of the darkness
they toiled
underneath the thrust

of bullet and finger touching
the silenced heart

and
blood like a fountain
sprayed upon the sheets...

....some secret code
that she read as
she fell dying to the roof

this...

his Rachel Corrie moment come
round at last.

His Rachel Corrie Moment - (In Memory of Asma al-Mughayr)

This one's been up before Les, chilling
I think to the day I die that girl will stay foremost in my mind (and yes the little girl on the roof-top as well and there are others the little one they shot and then emptied the guns clip into her lifeless body)
Whatever it was she had it was to the nth degree and will be required by us all eventually and most of all by the American people if they are to extract themselves from their current mess
All she wanted was a better world. Simple.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

Les,
Continue to whisper words of wisdom, and remembrance.
We do not walk alone my brother.

In Memory --

For the little war
that should have happened

But didn't.

What if --

-- the minute they first heard
that their president
KNEW the ship attacked
On the high seas
Was no accident --

What IF the patriots
had fired THEN?

It goes without saying:
So let's say it anyway:
Rachel would be alive.

And a million Iraqis
Would be alive

And more.

Hope would be alive.
Future dreams
without mushroom clouds
sprouting over Iran
Would be alive.

All because
a small war-that-should-have-been
was not fought
when it was really needed.

The memory of the war not waged
Grows bigger, bigger.

As we get poorer and weaker...

...the memory of what we didn't do
-- when we were strong
-- when we were rich
strangles all our dreams

Till the only dream left
is what we didn't do.

I know where the Rubicon lay
The Waterloo’s folly

Icy Russian Winters await the aggressor
Behind every tree and ditch
Shadows

He who is stout of spirit
Let him hold His line drawn

Scratch the words that inspire
A Reminder
Of things to come
And of things past

Real it comes
At it’s own pace
Cold claws scraping
Foul stench

The mist conceals the foe
Lifting
Hold the high ground
Of spirit

Neighbor is the traitor
Whispers pierce the night
Alone with what could have been

What Is
Is
For only the moment

The Victory lay now
As it always has
In Life
In Love
In Joy

Was there ever a time
Is there no time
Destined to repeat
Nothing is destined
Only lived

When man was free
When he was not under the boot or club of another
Fear the older for they are stronger and wiser
Fear the younger for they will grow stronger

When people did not believe that someone else was closer to god
Because they said they were
When did the weaker convince the stronger that there were gods
With rules
And consequences
Fear-Dread-Fires of hell
Vestal Virgins
That the weaker would interpret because only they could hear

When were women told for the first time that they were inferior

When did it become us against them
We the people
Why do we allow the unseen men to define
Why do we accept their definitions for so long

The lie of patriotism
“When Johnny Comes Marching Home”
“I pledge Allegiance”
Zeig Heil-
CIA
FBI
NSA
WTF

When did life go from survival of the fittest
To survival of the most cunning
To the most ruthless using the most fit and cunning
Always above the fray

Eternal Damnation
Eternal Life
Purgatory
Just passin’ through

When were we convinced that we needed Politicians
And Religious Leaders
The fault does not lay in that they declared themselves as such
But that we swallowed the lie that we needed them

Why so many experts
When did we get so dumb
Our own opinions don’t count
Because we say they don’t
Absolved of all responsibility
In god we trust

When did we start to believe that
What church we joined
Defined us
When what country we lived in defined us
That what our job is, or is not
Defines who we are
That the color of our skin separates us
On the pallet of the artist

That more is the answer
That less is the answer
That somewhere else is better
That we are entitled to more
Take because we have less
Greed
Guilt
Every angle covered

That god is in charge
Absolved of responsibility
Render unto Caesar
God’s will
Free will
No brains
The hand is quicker than the eye

Peaceful Protest
Join a group
Strength in numbers
God save the queen
Banners
Flags to rally round’
Beware of those who don’t look like you
Nice tits

Always freedom from something
Not freedom with and of, all that is

Don’t try to grasp it with your mind
That’s what got us to where we are
What we have allowed

It is where it has always been
Everywhere
And always will be
Don’t push it

Don’t define
It just takes away
Never adds

It is not yours
It is not mine
It is ours
We are it
It is all that is

May the bulldozer flip over on the pile of ratfeces that ran over Rachel Corrie. Kinda scary that Israel can kill 'Merikans with impunity. Gentiles are the untermenschen? I thought all people were god's people.

If you're going to troll or get ad hominem, even if you are going to whine because I stepped on one of your frogs, it is better that you are not anonymous. Anonymous does not have the same right of being heard as someone who stands behind what they say. Also, The Zio-Ogre has targeted this site through their gremlins in Zio-blogger via Zio-Google so if they won't let you comment then mail your comments to me at lesvisible@gmail.com

Here is a possible posting workaround; type what you want to paste onto a Text Edit page. Move the Text Edit page over to the side to where you can still see your Comment Frame. Then click on written text (slide the cursor across so it turns Blue), then "grab" it and move it over on top of your Comment Frame. Presto!
